Green tea has major health benefits such as toxin-leaching and fat-fighting properties, as well as an abundance of antioxidants. In order to access those health benefits, it's best to steep green tea for about 5 minutes. Avoid getting a bitter cup of tea by letting boiling water cool to about 170 degrees before adding the green tea leaves. However, if you want a fast cup of green tea, you can put the leaves into water that is just off the boil (wait about 20 seconds after the water boils) and steep for about 30 seconds. You'll still get a beautiful cup of green tea this way.
