Fruit Infusions

Many loose leaf teas make beautiful iced tea and the selection of teas below are especially great when iced.  Don't let that limit you, though.  We encourage you to try your favourite hot tea as an iced tea, too!

If you choose to sweeten the tea simply blend a little honey, sugar, artificial sweetener, or crystal light with the hot tea before chilling.

Steeping tea for an iced beverage is similar to steeping tea for a hot beverage.
Whenever possible, make the tea the night before so it is well chilled when you serve it.

To brew 6 cups of iced fruit infusions, herbal tisanes or rooibos, measure 2 tablespoons of tea in a tea pot (either loose or in an infuser).
Bring 3 cups of cold, tap water or filtered water to a boil.
Pour the boiling water directly over the fruit and herbs and steep for a minimum of 20 minutes or over night.
Strain and then add 3 additional cups of cold water or ice.
Garnish with a fresh slice of fruit.
