Jimma is divided into woredas, or districts, and within those, kebeles — smaller communities, each with its own washing station and its own terroir. Duromina comes from the Qadamessa kebele, in the Gomma woreda. Farms here sit at 1,850 to 1,980 masl, with rainfall spread evenly across the whole growing season and harvest running from mid-October into late January.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSmall Farms, Shared Land\u003cbr\u003eCoffee is grown on very small holdings in Qadamessa, typically 0.1 to 2 hectares, and it's the community's main source of income. Producers intercrop with false banana trees and maize for shade, choosing cover based on the age and needs of each coffee plant.
